The Colombia international hit 28 goals in La Liga last term before leaving Los Colchoneros for newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Monaco.
Juanfran admitted they have lost something with the departure of Falcao, but was optimistic about the effect a replacement could have on the team with a number of names having been targeted already.
"We need someone with that extra quality that Falcao gave us," the 28-year-old told reporters. "It is clear that the names being mentioned will do that.
"[Alvaro] Negredo, [Roberto] Soldado [and David] Villa are all great strikers. Hopefully we'll have a great season.
"The economy in Spain is difficult for teams other than Real Madrid and Barcelona. But we are convinced that things will work out well for us. I'm sure we're going to have a great season."
