Jorge Jesus has made it clear he would welcome Fabio Coentrao with open arms at Benfica if he were to leave Real Madrid this summer.
The
25-year-old's future at Madrid is in doubt after a disappointing
2012-13 campaign and a number of recent reports have suggested the
Santiago Bernabeu side are ready to cash in on Coentrao if a good offer comes in.
"Fabio
Coentrao is the one Portugal international I would like to see most at
Benfica - not taking Cristiano Ronaldo into account," Jesus told A Bola.
"He
has already played here before and everybody at the club loves him. He
is the best Portuguese full-back out there and would make us even
stronger."
Coentrao previously wore the Benfica jersey from 2007
until 2011 before leaving the club for Madrid. His contract with the
Liga giants runs until the summer of 2017.
